Haddenham

Haddenham is regarded as one of the premier villages in Aylesbury Vale and is situated between Aylesbury and Thame, within sight of the Chiltern Hills. The village was rated 6th in a government survey of more than 32,000 communities looking for ‘the neighbourhood with the best quality of life’ and Haddenham has been declared as one of the most desirable places to live in England.

An attractive feature of the village is the traditional village pond and Church together with the 'Witchert' cottages and walls which bound many of the paths and properties. There is a wide selection of good properties of all ages with varying different types of construction and styles. The village has two centres - a modern centre near the shops and an older centre near the Church. There is a regular train service - Chiltern Line - to London Marylebone (50 minutes) and to Birmingham. The railway station is within walking distance of all parts of the village. Access to the M40 motorway is a short drive away and there is a comprehensive bus service to the local towns and the City of Oxford. There are three schools in the village and Secondary schools in Aylesbury, Princes Risborough and Thame, and Grammar Schools in Aylesbury as well as several specialist and private schools in the immediate area. There are three restaurants and five public houses within the village as well as a medical centre, dentist, library, post office, petrol station and community centre. The recreation ground hosts a tennis club, football pitch and a cricket square. There are numerous golf courses in the area and further recreation and leisure facilities at nearby Thame.

There are a number of shops including a traditional butchers, newsagents, grocers, large garden centre, the famous St Tiggywinkles animal hospital and numerous businesses of all sizes. The local hospital is the Stoke Mandeville Hospital Trust within 15 minutes drive. In short, everything is here or nearby!
